FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach Oleksandr Shovkovskyi has commented upon the win against FC Rukh Lviv in the Ukrainian Cup quarterfinal (1:0):
- Compared to the previous league match against Rukh you made a number of starting lineup substitutions. What do you think of this game and the goal late in the first half?
- Congrats to all our fans. Today we let players who had less game practice take the field. We have 26 performers including youngsters. Valentyn Morhun made his debut for the first team and did a great job.
As for the game, I’d say fans probably liked the intense ending unlike our coaching staff. We had to make the score more favorable in the first half and after the break.
I always tell my players that to me conceding a goal equals a missed scoring chance. We’ll keep working on that.
- You’ve won two games against Rukh in a row, tested two lineups. Are you satisfied?
- The most important game is a following game. At this point this is the game against Livyi Bereh on April 6. Of course it feels good to win two in a row, but that’s history already.
- Have Rukh surprised you somehow?
- Every team has their own formation, tactics and other aspects depending upon players they can count on. Rukh have been demonstrating the same style since the beginning of the second part of the season. It was hardly possible to change something in three days between our games. That’s why we expected this kind of match.
