On Friday, February 28, FC Dynamo Kyiv played the Ukrainian Premier League matchday 19 game – against FC Vorskla Poltava. The match took place in Kyiv although it was technically away one for our team.
The game wasn’t too dynamic at first. Neither side created a lot of chances early in the match. Yet eventually the White-Blues seized their opportunity. Diachuk sent Buialskyi one-on-one with Isenko and Vitalii hit the target – 0:1.
Vorskla responded with a dangerous free kick – Avdyli missed just a bit. Then the crossbar saved Dynamo after the header from Kulach! Later Pavliuk attempted with a header as well – Neshcheret was there.
Our team responded with some sharp counterattacks. Yarmolenko’s shot was blocked while Kabayev barely missed aiming at the far corner.
Vorskla kept attacking after the break and after a few attempts succeeded. Krupskyi crossed into the box and Skliar headed the ball in from close range – 1:1. Dynamo could take the lead again, but the ball went wide after shot by Voloshyn.
Salabai had a perfect opportunity to grab the winner, but Neshcheret parried his header. Vorskla got outnumbered in a stoppage time as Ostrovskyi was sent off for the second boking, but the score didn’t change anymore – 1:1.
Dynamo will play then next game on Thursday, March 6 – against FC LNZ Cherkasy away.
