FC Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Mykola Mykhailenko has commented upon the game against FC Shakhtar Donetsk (2:2) for Profootball Digital.
- The first half was a failure, but in the second we could win if we used our chances.
- That’s a bit of a paradox.
- That happens in football. That’s why we love it. The early opener confused us, then we conceded again, but after the break things were totally different.
- What happened at halftime?
- Nothing special. We just focused and realized we’re strong as a team.
- They were pressing you actively in the first half, but after the break that changed. Did you start playing differently?
- We changed our formation a bit. Maybe Shakhtar weren’t ready for that.
- What was your personal role after the break?
- I often moved back as the third center back. Maybe they got confused when our wingers moved down the center.
- Was this the most emotional game in your career?
- This was my first classic Ukrainian derby, so it’s a truly special moment I will remember for the rest of my life.
- At this point Dynamo major opponent are Oleksandria. What do you think of their progress this season?
- They’re great team with outstanding atmosphere. I’m really glad for them. I want Oleksandria to be among the UPL leaders.
- Dynamo had a lot of chances in the second half. Was there a point when you though like: “for crying out loud!”?
- When you create one chance after another, you don’t think anything like that. You just keep believing. We believed and eventually scored. Everyone did a good job. We were a team.
- Are you satisfied or disappointed with the final score?
- Considering how things were in the first half, we saved the game. Considering the second half, we totally could win. But his is football, we’re moving on. We also want to thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the chance to play football.
- What were your thoughts when Kabayev scored?
- I was the first to come across him when he celebrated. Those are really positive emotions (smiling).
